operating from Cairns. Whether you are a novice snorkeler,
certified diver, or just happy to view from the glass bottomed
boat then this 'Compass Cruises' trip has got it covered. Enjoy a
fun day out with lots of variety, good food, friendly experienced
instructors and crew.
Compass Cruises is a large,
spacious, express trip to the Great Barrier Reef's outermost reef
locations. Enjoy cruising past Upolu Cay & the famous Michaelmas
Cay to Hastings Reef, 60km from Cairns.
Hastings Reef is 10 sq km of
coral gardens, renowned for tame, friendly reef sharks, Wally the
Giant Wrasse and thousands of colourful tropical fish. Passengers
can snorkel and try the excitement of scuba diving on the free 10
minute scuba dive demonstration.
Let the friendly, highly trained
scuba dive instructors & crew show you the underwater world of the
Great Barrier Reef on an introductory scuba dive or certified
scuba diving. (Scuba Diving for certified divers additional cost).
The glass bottom boat departs regularly for coral & marine life
viewing.
The 2nd location, Breaking
Patches, is renowned for it's forest staghorn coral, large sea
fans & black coral trees, yielding some 400 species of coral, and
a vertical wall teaming with marine life.

09:30am - Reef video presentation, Snorkel &
Scuba Dive procedures, Reef Safety orientation.
10:30am - 1:30pm - Arrive Hastings Reef,
Snorkel & Scuba Dive Demonstration, Glass Bottom Boat
Introductory & Certified Scuba Diving.
1:45pm - Glass Bottom Boat, swimming &
snorkelling, then lunch.
02:00pm - Arrive Breaking Patches. Introductory
& Certified Scuba Diving, Snorkelling, Boom-netting.
5:00 - 5:30pm - Return Marlin Jetty, Cairns.
