Blanket Bay Lodge is located 45 minutes drive from Queenstown along
the scenic lake side road.
Enjoy the fabulous vistas from the
vast Great Room, where pre-dinner cocktails are served or relax in
the cosy atmosphere of the Den. The outdoor terrace can be enjoyed
day or evening with the added comfort of an outdoor fireplace. In
addition to this there is the Games Room with a number of
activities including a pool table.
Breakfast and lunch are served in
the comfortable yet cosy main dining room which has lake-views and a
stone fireplace. In the evening dinner is served at individual
tables in front of the fire in the Private Dining Room, on the
Outdoor Terrace or for a more intimate occasion in the secluded Wine
Cave. Top chefs are on hand to prepare exquisite meals using the
finest, freshest produce, to complement there is a selection of fine
wines from New Zealand's top vineyards including locally produced
Central Otago labels. A special feature of the Lodge is our Wine
Room and Wine Cave. On request wine tasting will give you the
opportunity to sample and experience some of the world acclaimed
local New Zealand wines.
Health Facilities featuring
separate male and female steam rooms and change rooms adjoin the
lodge spa. A perfect location for a relaxing soak after a workout in
the gym or an active day in the outdoors. Work out using the latest
and best equipment with unsurpassed views of the Humboldt Mountains.
The gym is fully equipped with a Vectra Multi Station and Life
Fitness Cardio Equipment.
Lodge Rooms: Five intimate
lakeside rooms feature their own balcony or terrace, super-
king-size bed, sitting area and armoire.
Lodge Suites: Three
gracious 700 sq. ft Suites feature an additional 400 sq. ft private
balcony, stone fireplaces, walk-in closets and capacious bathrooms
with separate steam showers and bathtubs.
Rooms & Suites include air
conditioning, international
direct dial telephones and separate modem jacks to retrieve email in
the privacy of your room.
Lodge Chalets: Complement
the main lodge with the use of schist stone and old steamer wharf
timber beams. Each chalet enjoys stunning views down the length of
Lake Wakatipu with the Richardson Mountain Range towering above. The
chalets contain two 700 sq. ft suites each with their own stone
fireplace, large bathrooms, lake deck and private courtyards. The
Chalet Suites are available individually or can be combined with an
additional spacious living room to create the 1400 sq. ft Richardson
Staterooms.
Whilst based at Blanket Bay you
are handily located for excursions into the Mt Aspiring National
Park on the nearby Dart River. Alternatively take the lake side road
to Queenstown for steamer trips on Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak
Station, wine tours, jet boating and rafting trips as well as some
of New Zealand's most scenic golf courses. Horse riding, scenic
flights, guided fishing and of course skiing in winter are just some
of the experiences Queenstown has to offer. Milford Sound can
be visited as a fly/cruise/fly, half day option from Queenstown
airport, or as a long day trip by coach.
