Chateau Tongariro Hotel Tongariro National Park New Zealand

The Chateau Tongariro sits nestled in the shadow of three towering active volcanoes, and at the very foot of the majestic and sacred Mount Ruapehu, located within the Tongariro National Park–a dual listed World Heritage Area.

The Chateau is a fine example of neo-Georgian sophistication and refinement - is a Category One Heritage Building. Its lavish décor and furnishings, heavenly cuisine and superior standards of service, set against a backdrop of truly remarkable scenery, have created its legacy as a place of magic, refinement and romance.

As you arrive at the Chateau, standing under the grand entrance portico, you know you are somewhere special. Before you, an active volcano looms, dramatic in its beauty. Inside, roaring log fires, the glow of grand chandeliers, sublime cuisine and spectacular mountain views await.

The hotel presents 106 beautiful hotel rooms plus an excellent variety of restaurants and bars, a gym, sauna and hot plunge pool, tennis court, a cinema and the highest golf course in New Zealand.

In winter and spring, you’re literally minutes away from exhilarating ski slopes. Year round, you’re on the doorstep of one of nature’s finest playgrounds, amongst the world’s finest wild trout fishing and at the doorstep of ‘New Zealand’s best one day walk’ - the acclaimed Tongariro Alpine Crossing.
