To begin your
adventure take the magnificent lake side drive from Queenstown to
the Dart River Jet Safari's Base at Glenorchy. Alternatively Dart
River Jet Safaris can pick you up from your Queenstown
accommodation.
This trip takes you
from the head of Lake Wakatipu at Glenorchy by jetboat up the Dart
River into the magnificent scenery of the Mount Aspiring National
Park. Navigating the shallow braided river by jetboat to the
FunyakŪ put-in point (1 hr 15 mins). Then you paddle gently
downstream, exploring the Rockburn Chasm on the way, which is only
accessible by FunyakŪ. Then it's a journey through the back
country roads of Paradise to Glenorchy. Lunch is included.
Suitable for most ages and fitness levels, no experience is
required.
This is a unique all day
adventure available year round allow:
6 1/2 hours return Glenorchy / Glenorchy
8 1/2 - 9 hours return Queenstown/
Wetsuits and
booties are supplied. Please bring swimwear or spare underwear
plus a lightweight wool or thermal top for under your wetsuit and
a fleece top for over it. Bring a towel if you have one, and
sunglasses (year-round), plus a warm hat and gloves in winter, and
a sunhat, sunscreen and insect repellent in summer.
