High Country Explorer Christchurch New Zealand
Travel the Canterbury Plains, river and high
country with High Country Explorer, including the renowned
TranzAlpine Train.
By incorporating 4 different modes of transport
from one location to the next, you will be able to visit areas
normally inaccessible, and experience more spectacular scenery and
grandeur.
Brief itinerary: Pick up from your
accommodation by mini coach and transfer to the Christchurch
Railway Station to board the TranzAlpine Train for a fantastic
journey that takes you across the Canterbury Plains and into the
mountains. Disembark at Arthurs Pass and be taken by custom built
4 wheel drive vehicle to the dramatic Otira Gorge and then on to a
hearty high country lunch.
Explore, off road, into the isolation of a New
Zealand's 35,000 acre Flock Hill Station where you will
experience fabulous views and informative commentary. Then descend
via Pig Gully to the Waimakariri River. Here you will board the
jet boat for a great 15km jet boat cruise to rendezvous with your
coach at Woodstock Station. Afternoon tea is served before your
