The Pillars Retreat is a modern
Mediterranean style country manor offering privacy and tranquility,
all day sun and amazing sunsets. Being close to Taupo it is handily
located for your Taupo experience or day trip to Tongariro National
Park or Whirinaki Forest.
The house is set amid 3 acres of
park-like grounds with views of the lake and mountains, a spacious
lounge with double doors opening onto the lawn and overlooking the
tennis court. The decor could best be described as classical - not
so formal as to compromise comfort and relaxation. Guests have
access to The Pillars Retreat internet and Fax facilities, including
wireless internet.
All accommodation includes
breakfast All our bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, are located
upstairs, and all have under-floor heating.
Each room contains quality furnishings that include TV, radio alarm
clock, and fridge.
Selections of tea/coffee (herbal teas), fresh fruit, bottled water
and complimentary wine are standard.
The Pillars Suite
This the grand suite and is our most luxurious with its
Californian/King bed and 2 seater sofa and armchair.
It has a large ensuite bathroom with bath and stand alone shower.
From the full length balcony you can take in the 180 degree panorama
over the gardens, swimming pool, tennis court and beyond to sunsets
over Lake Taupo.
The Bonshaw suite
This suite is named after the picturesque landscape surrounding it.
Relax here in the large 2 seater sofa and take it all in.
This suite has an ensuite bathroom and Juliet balcony with views to
the North and West over the gardens, pool towards Taupo and the
Great Lake beyond. Bed is a Californian/King.
The Tauhara suite
The Tauhara Suite which catches the rising sun has its own Juliet
balcony overlooking the swimming pool gardens and the 1088 metre Mt
Tauhara.
Contains its own ensuite bathroom and Queen Anne furnishings
including sofa and a has Superking/Twin bed.
The Sunset suite
As its name suggests, The Sunset suite faces the West with views of
the garden toward the lake and Taupo.
It has an ensuite bedroom and King/twin bed. Furnished in Queen Anne
style.
