Punatapu Lodge is situated in pristine natural alpine landscape on
the Glenorchy Road, twelve minutes drive from central Queenstown,
and designed by an acclaimed New Zealand architect, Punatapu Lodge
is a very private facility of only four guest suites.

Punatapu Lodge accommodates
exclusively for people desiring a genuine, sincere, and unique
cultural experience of New Zealand
Guest suites surrounding a
courtyard are separate from the main lodge which houses the lounge,
dining room, breakfast conservatory and library. Exclusively
furnished with natural materials, fine textiles, artworks, and
furniture handcrafted by New Zealanders, Punatapu has style,
strength of character and a special relationship with the
environment.
Guest Suites
Private suites, studios and a family wing strive to create a second
home for your alpine retreat.
Punatapu Suite: Wheelchair access,
super king/twin beds, open fire and soft seating area. Ensuite
bathroom with glass ceiling. Sauna and shower room. Private
courtyard/herb garden.
Cove Room: Upstairs room with
verandah, king/twin beds, ensuite bathroom. Lovely views over
mountains and native beech forest.
These two rooms create a pair,
referred to as the Cove Wing, which are adjacent to the swimming
pool and spa. They are self contained but work well for two couples
travelling together. The Punatapu Suite is downstairs and the Cove
Room is accessed by an external staircase.
Stable: Queen bed, ensuite
bathroom upstairs, lovely outlook towards the lake. Private walled
courtyard.
Barn Studio: Staircase access to
super king or twin beds. Downstairs soft seating, gas fire,
kitchenette, unique bath and shower ensuites.
The above two rooms, in a
converted barn, are adjacent but not interconnecting and are well
suited to parties travelling together.
Family Suite: Three separate
bedrooms, double and twin room upstairs, king room with one large
ensuite downstairs, soft seating area, open fire and games room.
Internet, telephone access, CD
stereo systems, tv, video, hairdryers, quality cotton linen,
bathrobes, fridges stocked with complimentary soft drinks, iced
water, fruit and flowers are standard in every suite.
Food & Wine:
The food and wine will be on a par
with the finest food anywhere but you will enjoy it in a relaxed,
low-key, New Zealand atmosphere.
Breakfast on the patio as the sun
rises from behind the mountains or in the sunlit conservatory
chatting with your personal chef. Dine intimately with a loved one
in private or in the company of people Punatapu has drawn together.
Explore ‘the art of cooking from
Aotearoa’ with a culinary lesson in the whareumu (cookhouse). Gather
in the drawing room for a good yarn with your hosts or simply relax
in front of the fire with a glass of wine and a good book.
