Dining

" To be noticed in a town filled with dining options, a restaurant has to be different, especially when tucked away in a boutique hotel".

The Spire offers the ultimate treat a ten-course degustation menu featuring contemporary interpretations of the finest local produce.

The Spire’s beautifully decorated and intimate restaurant seats just 24 guests. The Signature degustation menu consists of 10 courses, each carefully orchestrated so none dominates. Each course is tiny but perfectly formed with surprising elements like cauliflower panna cotta with stewed bell peppers, French goat’s cheese with beetroot and anise coulis, aged Angus beef with confit muttonbird dumplings, and caramelised pineapple with white pepper ice-cream."

Alternatively choose from a three or five course a la carte menu.

Typical dishes might be: Commence with the enticing orientally inspired Karengo Prawns with nori straws & tiger tomato coulis complimented with a fruity Otago Sauvignon Blanc. Or stimulate your taste buds with the flavoursome five spice pork belly with foie gras mousse tortellini & caramelised apple married with an icy Palliser Bay Chardonnay. The main course offers locally bred lamb and white fish on Clevedon oysters, but nothing exceeds the rich seared cervena with watercress ravioli, golden kumara & kawakawa puree on Valrhona jus with a perfect rich Central Otago Pinot Noir.
The kindness of the staff perfects the delight of an evening of sheer indulgence.
