Whale Watching Kaikoura New Zealand
Whale Watch® Kaikoura Ltd is
situated in Kaikoura, which is located two and a half hours north
of Christchurch or 1 1/2 hours south of Blenheim.
No trip to Kaikoura is complete without a Whale Watch Tour.
Off the coast of the village is
a marine environment so rich in nutrients that it attracts some of
the most magnificent creatures with which we share our planet.
Amongst these is the Giant Sperm Whale which can grow up to 20
metres in length and although this is the highlight of the trip, a
number of different species of whales may be seen, depending on
the season, as they follow their migratory route.
This unique marine experience
also provides the opportunity to sight the high spirited displays
of the Dusky Dolphins, the rare and endangered Hectors Dolphin,
New Zealand Fur Seals and a wide variety of sea birds including
the Royal Albatross.
Your safety and comfort are our
priority as you travel with us in our fully equipped vessels.
Because of the nature of the sea conditions along the coastline,
restrictions may be placed on passengers with medical problems.
Due to the high demand for
tours, advance booking is essential.
With several tours scheduled
each day (7.15am, 10.00am & 12.45pm) to meet your needs. In the
summer months of November to March we operate a further tour at
3.30pm. You need to allow 3.5 hours from the above check-in times
for the full experience (including safety briefing and transfers
to and from the vessel). Tours operate daily except Christmas Day.
